Keeping records.

Building a database of all that is seen at the Rife.

With so much variety of flora and fauna to be found at the Rife, it soon became apparent that there was a need to record and share this with a view  to aid in conservation.

Nationally there are several schemes that facilitate this. Since January 2025 I have submitted all of my sightings of animal and plant life to the organisation called iRecord. A photograph to confirm identity of what is being submitted is always included to eliminate any doubts.

Submissions can be made via the app on a mobile phone which is free and easy to use. Alternatively this can also be done on their website www.irecord.org.uk

I would encourage people to use this for your own sightings from the Rife. It will only take a minute or so of your time and you would be helping the Rife by doing so.

I feel it is very important to bring together all this data at a national level so that we can show just how much is to be found there. This may well be of use in the future to help protect this special place.
